Thyme to Indulge Catering was created in 2009 by Executive Chef Magavon Toby, and Senior Event Planner Paula Toby. Originally, the husband and wife team provided in-home fine dining experiences for clients, cooking in client homes (and prepping in their own). Coming from a successful farming family in the Caribbean, it was always important to Chef Magavon to source as many fresh and local ingredients as possible. Hence the slogan, “deliciously fresh and local”.
Word quickly spread as the business grew, and soon one of their previous clients asked if Thyme to Indulge could cater their wedding. After surpassing expectations, and through word of mouth, demand for catering needs grew to the point where Thyme to Indulge Catering needed it’s own space to call home.
Fast forward to early Summer 2013 and the bistro store front opens, with a massive commercial kitchen attached. The Main Street location was perfect for bistro customers to stumble across, try (and fall in love with) the quality of our food. The bistro has given us an opportunity to connect with the community and grow organically on the catering side, as well as provide a popular all day brunch spot for the community.
Now, with a full time team of chefs and event planners, we provide catering for corporate meetings and events, as well as private events such as weddings and birthday parties. Over the years, we have formed solid relationships with outside vendors, giving us the opportunity to be able to plan and execute events to their full potential. It allows us to be a one stop shop, taking the stress off of our clients’ shoulders.
It has always been important to us to form comfortable relationships with our clients, too. We pride ourselves on being boutique, with our close knit team working on each event together. Our chefs are passionate about the food they prepare, and our planners love to execute the coordination of an event. For both the back, and front of house staff, the greatest part of the job is knowing that we made our clients happy.
